The Book of Mormon is a musical comedy with music, lyrics, and book by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, and Matt Stone. It was first shown in 2011. The play is a satire based on the beliefs and practices of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The musical ends up supporting the positive power of love and service.[1]
The show won nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.
The Book of Mormon has made over $500 million, making it one of the most successful musicals of all time.[2]
