Tohmajärvi is a municipality in North Karelia, Finland. As of 31 December 2023, 4,066 people lived there. Neighbouring municipalities are Joensuu, Kitee and Rääkkylä. Since 2005, Värtsilä became a part of Tohmajärvi.
Tohmajärvi was founded in 1869.
