Tokyo Police Club was formed in 2005 by the members of the former band Suburbia. The band played at the Pop Montreal festival and were soon after signed to the Toronto label Paper Bag Records.[1]
The band released their first record, an EP called A Lesson in Crime, on April 25, 2006. Their second EP Smith EP was released on October 23, 2007 in Canada and on November 6, 2007 in the United States. They released their first studio album Elephant Shell on April 22, 2008. Their second studio album Champ was released on June 8, 2010. Their third album which is currently untitled is being mixed in Los Angeles.[2]
