Tom Jones (movie)
1963 British adventure comedy film directed by Tony Richardson
Tom Jones is a 1963 British movie. It is an adaptation of Henry Fielding's 1749 novel The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling. The movie stars Albert Finney and Susannah York. It was one of the most critically acclaimed and popular comedies of its time.[2] The movie was the third most popular movie at the British box office in 1963.[3] It won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture. The movie was directed by Tony Richardson. The screenplay was adapted by playwright John Osborne.
