Tomiko Itooka

Japanese supercentenarian

Tomiko Itooka (糸岡富子, Itooka Tomiko, née Yano; born 23 May 1908) is a Japanese supercentenarian who has been the world's oldest verified living person since August 2024.[1] She is Japan's oldest living person since the death of Fusa Tatsumi on 12 December 2023.[2]

Itooka was born in Osaka, Osaka Prefecture, Empire of Japan on 23 May 1908.[2] Itooka married businessman Kenji Itooka in 1928. He died in 1979. They had four children. She moved into a nursing home in Ashiya, Hyōgo in 2019.

On 19 August 2024, after Maria Branyas' death, she became the world's oldest living person.[1]
