Transverse myelitis

an inflammatory demyelinating disorder of the spinal cord, either idiopathic or secondary to a known cause

Transverse myelitis (TM) is a rare neurological condition in which the spinal cord is inflamed. Transverse talks about when the inflammation is beyond the spinal cord. The underlying cause of TM is unknown. It can cause damage to nerve fibers, by loss of myelin.[1]
