Trincomalee District

Trincomalee District (Tamil: திருகோணமலை மாவட்டம் Tirukŏṇamalai Māvaṭṭam; Sinhala: තිරිකුණාමළය දිස්ත්රික්කය) is one of the 25 districts of Sri Lanka. Districts are the second-level administrative divisions of the country. The capital of the district is the city of Trincomalee.

Trincomalee District is in the east of Sri Lanka. It is part of the Eastern Province. It has an area of 2,727 square kilometres (1,053 sq mi).[2]
