United States service academies
federal academies for commissioned officers of the U.S. Armed Forces
Military academies are military schools for the training of army officers. In the US there are several academies:
- United States Military Academy (West Point, New York)
- United States Naval Academy (Annapolis, Maryland)
- United States Air Force Academy (Colorado Springs, Colorado)
- United States Coast Guard Academy (New London, Connecticut)
- United States Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point, New York)
