Wikipedia: Simplifying Copy Editors

Welcome to the Simplifying Copy Editors project! This project is aimed to copy editing and simplifying articles that are requested by users on Wikipedia for projects such as WP:PGA and WP:PVG. Copy editing is the process of making improvements to an article. Here at WP:SCE, we use the five C's to help build a strong article (clear, correct, concise, comprehensible, and consistent), in other words; make it say what it means, and mean what it says.

Here, users simply request for an article (maximum of two articles at a time) to be simplified and copy edited by more advanced users who thoroughly understands the requirements for projects that promotes excellence in article content (WP:PGA and WP:PVG). This means that if you have expanded an article that you would like to see become a "good article" or a "very good article" and you are not a native English-language speaker, you can request that article to be copy edited and simplified by advanced Wikipedians. Anyone can nominate an article, even though that user is a native English-language speaker.

Remember that even though users here may fulfill you're request, this does not mean that it will be 100% acceptable (or pass 100%) when it is nominated. Please keep in mind that it may take up to several days or weeks before someone will perform the c/e (copy-editing) and simplifying of your article.

Nomination procedure

Anyone can request for an article to be copy-edited and simplified. To nominate an article to be copy-edited and simplified, simply add the hash key (#) with the article(s) name along with your signature. Also please give a short sentence or two about why you nominated the article and what are you hoping to achieve from the article (are you hoping to have it become a "good article" or a "very good article"?). Please remember that you can only nominate two (2) articles up for nomination at a time. Once a user has c/e and simplified one of your article, you can nominate a different article here. Please be patient when you do nominate an article.

It may take up to several days or even weeks before your article is complete and ready for nominations at WP:PGA and WP:PVG. In the meantime, you can help Simple English Wikipedia by expanding articles that are found at Category:Stubs or help cleanup other articles you may wish to nominate later.

How To Help Out!

All users are welcome to participate in this project. We need all the help from anyone interested in helping others. When joining, please add your name (below this section) to the "active members". When c/e and simplifying remember to read all requirements for articles to become a WP:GA and WP:VGA article. Also remember to read all other rules and style guidelines that can help you guide yourself in copy-editing and simplifying articles. When you begin working, please remember to add {{inuse}} when you perform your c/e and simplifying.

Also please inform the nominator after you have finished. Remember that the nominator may not approve of your recent edits or may have additional comments about your recent edits to the article. Please reply to them so they can be satisfied.
