Article Goals
changeI plan to make all astronomy-related pages either good or very good articles in the near future.
I have five classes to rate these articles.
- Class 1 - Equivalent of Stub class and Start class. Has under three sections and may not have an image. All sections are short. The vast majority of Simple articles are of this quality. Reference counts are usually low, though some have up to twenty.
- Class 2 - Equivalent of C class. It is the usual quality of Simple articles that recieve at least some attention. Has 2-4 sections that are a paragraph long. These normally have sufficient references, but there are always exceptions.
- Class 3 - Equivalent of B+ and B classes. They are some of the better Simple articles, and have 3-5 sections that are sufficiently long. Most have lots of references and are accurate.
- Class 4 - Equivalent of A class. These are some of the best articles we have, and the quality I want all major astronomy articles to be in the least. They have 4+ sections and a good long lead with images. The better ones are eligible for GA. These have tons of references and are some of the most accurate and NPOV articles.
- Class 5 - These articles are the very best we have. They have perfect to near perfect leads, and many sections that are at least two paragraphs. These are eligible for GA, and maybe even VGA. They are mostly above 100 references and many are in the two hundreds and three hundreds.
- Class X - These are the elite of elite articles. All are eligible for VGA, and are the wiki's goal. They have perfect leads and content. They have usually the same reference counts as Class 5, but the references are even better in most cases.
Starting with these ten: (You can make the ratings more accurate if you want)
- Uranus (Class 4 to 5)
- Mars (Class 4 to 5)
- Venus (Class 4 to 5)
- Mercury (Class 4 to 5)
- Sun (Class 5)
- Dwarf planet (Class 1 to 2)
- Planet (Class 3)
- Solar system (Class 4)
- Astronomy (Class 3)
- Star (Class 4)
How will I do this, you ask?
