First edit change

Well, I'm still a complete novice at editing Wikipedia articles, but after many years of "lurking" here, I finally created my first one. It's the simple English version of the Hebephilia article. Nothing fancy, just a very short, simple English article containing a few sentences to fill the void that existed before the simple English version was written. It was much harder than I expected to write "simple English" than the usual academic and professional English I use regularly. So far, it's only a very quick, unpolished article, but I hope to improve it soon. Consider it a place-holder in the interim.

I'll also figure out how to add references (does one need to add references to Simple English Wikipedia? I'll check that, too) and a link to the full article.

Please add references where possible - these are the templates for them Category:Citation_templates. A link to the English Wikipedia is used the following way - if you source your information from it, then you need to include that information on the articles talk page. By creating an interwiki link at the end of an article it links to all the other wikipedias in a box on the left side of the page. I added an interwiki link to hebephilia, have a look at the page to see what I mean. Often looking at the edit page of an article will teach you all kinds of wiki skills. If you need extra info, check out the Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style But as you noted above, it is actually writing in Simple English that is the hard part. But don't worry, if you make a mistake there are plenty of editors who can help fix it.Peterdownunder (talk) 12:09, 24 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, Peter! I learned a lot from your comment, and even added another interwiki link. This is fun! Thanks again! Author99 (talk) 12:16, 24 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hello! change

Hi, I'm Author99, for lack of a more imaginative user name. I'm a postgraduate research student and very, very, very junior academic staff member at a great university, but my Wikipedia involvement is mostly due to my interest in knowledge sharing and creation, communities of practice, and an academic desire to fix up a few things in my areas. Specifically, I have interests in sexology such as Hebephilia, social constructions of sexuality, and research methods in sexual health.

Feel free to say "hello". I'm friendly and I don't mind if you have problems with any of my edits here. You're more than welcome to disagree, so let me know!
