Admin General
changeThe road is long... but we'll still hold on, as the "smaller" Esperanza, yeah? Thanks for putting up that notice on the Esperanza page: You're like our new Esperanza helper! :)-- Tdxiang 09:01, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
changeThanks for welcoming me, much appreciated :) --Glory to Gloria 01:26, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
Babel
changeI've replied on my talk page, I will always reply there. Thanks! --JustJacklen 03:40, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
Sean William
changeThanks for signing the Sean William "memorial" page. It helps. --'Choos'nink TALK 01:33, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
.co.nr.
changeHi. You've got a link of this type on your Calvin and Hobbes subpage. These links are being blacklisted because .co.nr is a URL redirect domain that can be used to bypass Wikipedia's spam filters. This is not to say that your link is spam.
Anyway, once blacklisted, it will be impossible to save edits to a page with this link. You can do one of several things:
- Leave the link alone for now. Change it when you have to edit the page in the future.
- Disable the link by deleting the "http://" part or putting a space between "http://" and the rest of the link.
- Delete the link altogether.
- Change the link to whatever the end destination of the redirect is.
If you have questions, see meta:Talk:Spam blacklist#700 URL redirection links to clean up. --A. B. (talk) 18:17, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Your idea on Babel Response
changeActually, putting in {{User fa-1}} tells other users that you understand basic Farsi. Panda Bear 19:44, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
Thank you!
changeThanks, for welcoming me Alastor, thank you so much (just spreading the love.) Auf wiedersehen! --'Choos'nink TALK 01:58, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Destroy All "Yous" Response
changeWell, it probably isn't that big of a deal, but Wikipedia:How to write Simple English articles says "Do not write in the second person. Good encyclopedia articles are never addressed to "you". Do not make statements about "you"." Panda Bear 01:05, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
That "This user would like to learn the Persian language" message under those Babel userboxes of yours...
changeCan you put that message there without the use of CSS? If so, how? Panda Bear 01:28, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
Never mind, I figured it out. Panda Bear 04:51, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
Okay I have to do this
changeYou've done things for me (And other things that I am impressed with.) You need a barnstar, dude.
Congratulations: You have been given a Barnstar!
Alastor Moody has been awarded this barnstar for helping a user out, and editing/contributing well. I, Luiza, award you this barnstar. :-). Enjoy! |
Here's a courtesy reminder...
changeHello ,Alastor. Remember to always subst talkpage templates! For example, welcoming, you do this:
{{subst:welcome}}
Cheers!-- Tdxiang 06:48, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Help with images...
changeKonnichiwa! (That's Japanese for "Hello.") Could you please help me with the images in the article Computer graphics? This is the image I'll refer to as the "drinking glasses picture." [1] And this is the image I'll refer to as the "Elephants Dream" picture. [2] I want the Elephants Dream picture right besides the drinking glasses picture. Thanks. Oh, this may be way off topic, but what's "Hello" and "Goodbye" in Persian? Panda Bear 04:04, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
Maybe you could use CSS? And I don't think I should put that Ja-1 template up right now. I only know several words right now. Ja-1 tells people that you already know basic words, plus basic grammar, and probably Higagana and Katakana. Besides the fact that the Japanese equivalent of "Bill's car" is "Bill no car," and that verbs come at the end of a sentence, I don't know any Japanese grammar. And I don't know any Higagana or Katakana, nor do I know any Kanji, therefore, I can't read any of those foreign scribbles. Panda Bear 18:43, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
Korean and Spanish
changeDo you understand Korean and Spanish, or are you just interested in learning them, like your Persian userbox? I saw the Ko-1 and Es-1 templates on your Commons user page. Panda Bear 08:14, 12 June 2007 (UTC) So you're just interested in learning them. I saw the Kr-0 and Es-0 templates in your userboxes on English Wikipedia. Panda Bear 16:06, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
Help with images... again...
changeHello, this time I was trying to use the gallery stuff to put this image and that image on the computer graphics article under "Examples of Vector Graphics," but when I try to do that, nothing shows up! Panda Bear 17:37, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Request for images, image help and suggestion for making animations
changeCould you make and upload some raster images, including pixel art, please? And I tried to add this image to computer graphics using that gallery stuff, but when I try to do that, it gets flipped up. And you can make simple GIF animations with GIMP. Click here for a tutorial on making animations. You should put that gunk image under "Examples of raster images." Panda Bear 06:07, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
Image request
changeThere is an image of the program Blender, which is licensed under the GNU General Public License, on the English Wikipedia. Here's the link to the image. [3] Could you please upload that image to Wikimedia Commons? Thank you. Panda Bear 17:24, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
I think you should modify the summary of the Blender screenshot so that it doesn't say that you made it, and that it gives credit to whoever made it. I did a little look around and found the user Rpgsimmaster made the image. (This may be off topic, but thanks for adding those background colors on your talk page.) Panda Bear 16:21, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Jimbo Wales
changeI have a complaint to make. You shouldn't have water in your talk page! What if someone drowns?!? Okay, just joking. I have a request for you. Could you please go to Jimbo Wales talk page and post this: "Konnichiwa, Jimbo Wales. ("Konnichiwa" is Japanese for "Hello.") I aksed Alastor Moody to post this for me. I don't have an account on the English Wikipedia and I don't want my ip address recorded. I'd like to introduce you to Simple English Wikipedia! Here is the Main Page. Maybe you could make an account there." Panda Bear 07:36, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Thank you :)
changeThanks, Alastor, for the big smile :). --'Choos'nink TALK 00:41, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Good luck
changeGood luck with your Rfa:) Have a nice week and God bless:)--Sir James Paul, La gloria è a dio 06:06, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Another image upload request
changeCould you upload this image to Wikimedia Commons, please? Thanks. Panda Bear 21:27, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
I wish you good luck
changeDear Alastor, I wish you good luck on your Rfa. Yes, RFAs aren't easy, but I hope you understand my reasons. I've changed my vote. Cheers!-- Tdxiang 09:18, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
RfA
changeOK, I've now closed your RfA. Good luck if you decide to retry in the future. Thanks, Archer7 - talk 23:13, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Number of Very good articles
changeAt my last check, there were two (see Category:Very good articles). There are currently seven (see Category:Proposed very good articles) that have been proposed, and meet at least 5 of the 10 Requirements. As a quality effort, I want to get to 150 very good articles (1% of the total). This will take a long time, however, given the limited number of active editors. --Eptalon 17:04, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
- I have nothing aganst classing the very good articles, once there are a sizeable number (say 70-80). At the moment, this does not make sense though. --Eptalon 14:57, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
RFA
changeCan you send me a link to your RFA, please? Panda Bear 20:57, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
Chinese
changeWhen I asked Tdxiang what "Sun" meant in Chinese, he responded, ""Sun" is :太阳 My Chinese is rusty, but I hope I haven't got it wrong... :P" Also when I asked him what it said in Pinyin, he said, "Tài yáng is its pinyin. Where are you going to use it? :P Well, even though we learn Chinese in Singapore, we speak English and for me, 3 other dialects most of the time, so Putonghua is a problem for most Singapore students now!" Panda Bear 17:18, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Goodbye!
changeYou'll be taking a break from Wikipedia, will you? Well, goodbye and have a good break! I hope you'll come back soon! Panda Bear 18:43, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
I checked out your English Wikipedia userpage and it said "Alastor Moody has had it with wikipedia and will be gone for some time away. It is unsure when he may come back." Are you just taking a break from the English Wikipedia? Panda Bear 21:10, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Well then, I think you should modify it to say "Alastor Moody has had it with the English wikipedia and will be gone for some time away. Panda Bear 21:16, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Fa-0
changeI made a Fa-0 userbox for you. Here's the source. {{Userbox | border-c = #999 | border-s = 1 | id-c = #FFB3B3 | id-s = 14 | id-fc = black | info-c = #FFE0E8 | info-s = 8 | info-fc = black | id = [[Persian language|Fa]]-0 | info = این کاربر فارسی نمیدان.''' | float = left }} Panda Bear 21:26, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Basic Spanish
changeI don't think you should have that Es-1 userbox on your Wikimedia Commons userpage. You only understand two words. According to Commons, 1 stands for basic knowledge: the ability to understand and answer simple questions in the language. Someone with a sombrero might find your userpage, notice the Es-1 userbox, and start talking to you in Spanish. Panda Bear 22:43, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Danke, but...
change...I am not too sure about that, but I hope it's born on Christmas! --Choosnink TALK 00:48, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Auf Wiedersehen
changeJust curious, but what does "Auf Wiedersehen" mean? Panda Bear 19:18, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
"Except for administrators who find several typos that needs to be fixed"
changeWhy do you only allow administrators to fix typos? Anyone can fix a typo. Panda Bear 21:09, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Red links in talk header
changeOK, I'll try and get some of those filled in when I get the chance. Unfortunately I'm very busy at the moment, so it may be a few days... Archer7 - talk 21:19, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Getting started
changeI'm new here. I added some text to the Buckwheat article. Would you mind looking to see if my changes use a level of English appropriate to this WP? (I'm quite sure that this comment doesn't. :-) Waitak 21:01, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
