V-chip
censorship technology based on parental guidance ratings
The V-chip is a technology. It is used in television set receivers in the United States, Canada and Brazil. It allows blocking of certain television programs or movies based under their category. Televisions manufactured since January 2000 are required to have the V-chip technology.[1]
The V-chip is for content reasons, like sex, profanity and violence.
