Vani Kola

Indian venture capitalist

Vani Kola is an Indian venture capitalist. She is the founder and managing director of Kalaari Capital, a venture capital firm. Vani was listed in the Fortune magazine's Most powerful women in Indian business list for the year 2014[1] , 2018[2] and 2019.[3]

Early life

She was born in 1964 in Hyderabad, India. She completed her engineering education from Osmania University.[4]

Career

At the age of 22, Vani Kola founded a company called Certus Software in Silicon Valley and served as CEO. After working in Silicon Valley for 22 years, she returned to India in 2006 and founded Kalaari Capital in partnership with various venture capital companies. The company was established in 2012 with an investment of US$150 million. Under Vani's chairmanship, the company's investment reached US$650 million in 2017, which was US$150 million in 2012.[5]
