Victor J. Banis

Victor Jerome Banis (May 25, 1937 – February 22, 2019) was an American author. He was thought to have helped with the first wave of west coast gay writing. For his contributions he has been called "the godfather of modern popular gay fiction."^[1] He was openly gay.^[2]^[3] He was born in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. His best known work was The Man from C.A.M.P..

Banis died on February 22, 2019 in Martinsburg, West Virginia from liver cancer, aged 81.^[4]
