Yumika Yokoyama

Yumika Yokoyama (横山 友美佳, Yokoyama Yumika, 2 March 1987 - 17 April 2008) was a Japanese volleyball player.
Life and career
changeYumika Yokoyama was born on 2 March 1987 in Beijing.[1] She studied at Shimokitazawa Seitoku High School and Waseda University.[1] Her school friend was volleyball player Saori Kimura.[1]
She played at the 2004 FIVB World Grand Prix.[2] She wanted to play in the 2008 Summer Olympics.[1] However, she died before the event.[1]
She was diagnosed with cancer.[1] She died of rhabdomyosarcoma on 17 April 2008, aged 21.[3]
She wrote a book, Ashita mo mata ikite ikou (明日もまた生きていこう, Ashita mo mata ikite ikou, lit. Let's live again tomorrow).[1] It was adapted into a Japanese television drama in 2010.[3]
