Znaur Gassiev
Head of State of South Ossetia, 1991-1992
Znaur Nikolaevich Gassiev (Ossetian: Гасситы Знауыр Znauyr Gassity, Georgian: ზნაურ გასიევმა, Russian: Знаур Николаевич Гассиев; 17 March 1925 – 6 March 2016)[1] was a South Ossetian politician. He was one of the leaders of the South Ossetian independence movement in the early 1990s. He served as the first President of South Ossetia from 1991 through 1992.
