The Gauliga Donau-Alpenland 1942-43 (also Fußball-Sportbereichsklasse Donau-Alpenland 1942-43) was the fifth season of the Gauliga Donau-Alpenland in annexed Austria. First Vienna FC 1894 was able to defend the district championship title and became Austrian football champions for the fourth time. With this victory, Vienna qualified for the 1942-43 German football championship. They reached the semi-finals. This was lost against FV Saarbrücken 1:2. In the match for the 3rd place they lost 1:4 against Holstein Kiel.
This season eleven teams were represented. Sturm Graz stopped playing last season, but was allowed to take part in the Gauliga. Since the number of clubs in the league was reduced to ten again for the coming season, there were three relegated teams: SK Admira Wien, SK Sturm Graz and SG Reichsbahn Wien. Since the eighth and ninth places in the table were tied on points at the end, a playoff for 8th place had to be played. SC Wacker Wien won and remained in the league.
