This season eleven teams were represented. Sturm Graz stopped playing last season, but was allowed to take part in the Gauliga. Since the number of clubs in the league was reduced to ten again for the coming season, there were three relegated teams: SK Admira Wien, SK Sturm Graz and SG Reichsbahn Wien. Since the eighth and ninth places in the table were tied on points at the end, a playoff for 8th place had to be played. SC Wacker Wien won and remained in the league.
