ASEAN Declaration

Signing of ASEAN in 1967 in Bangkok to accelerate economic growth as its prime objective

The ASEAN Declaration or Bangkok Declaration is the first document of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. It was signed in Bangkok on 8 August 1967 by the first five ASEAN members, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.[1] The date is now celebrated as ASEAN Day.[2]
