Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli

Nigerian diplomat and traditional ruler

Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli (born 8 June 1966) is a Nigerian, banker, diplomat and current Emir of Zazzau. He is the first Emir from the Mallawa dynasty to be enthroned after the demise of Emir Alu Dan Sidi.[1][2][3]

Early life and education

Bamalli was born in Kwarbai Zaria city, Kaduna State, Nigeria. He is the first son of Nuhu Bamalli who was the minister of foreign affairs during first Republic. He holds bachelor's degree in law (LLB) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He has master's degree in international relations and diplomacy from ABU, Zaria and post graduate diploma in management from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology.[4]

Prior to his studies in his home country, he attended a fellowship on conflict resolution at the University of York, and diploma in organizational leadership from the University of Oxford. He also has certificate in General Management Program (GMP) at Harvard Business School.[5]

Career

Bamalli began his career at work at Metropolitan Management Agency where he rose to the head of human resources at Mtel.[6] He also worked in banking sector and rose to managing director of the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company Limited.[7] He served as permanent commissioner in the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission. Bamalli held tittle of Magajin Garin Zazzau before he emerged as the emir of Zazzau and served as Nigeria's Ambassador to Thailand, with concurrent accreditation to Myanmar.[3]
