Allstedt

Allstedt is a town in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It is in the Mansfeld-Südharz district. It is southeast of Sangerhausen. There are 13 parts of the town. The population was about 7,600 in 2020. The main political party is CDU.

History
changeThe history of the town first started in the 6th century. The town housed soldiers during the Thirty Years' War. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe lived in the town from 1776 to 1802. He stayed in the castle and wrote parts of Iphigenie. The town was bombed during World War II. Russians took over after the war.[3]
