Amy Gutmann
American academic and diplomat (born 1949)
Amy Gutmann (born 1949) is an American political scientist, academic and politician. She was the United States Ambassador to Germany from 2022 to 2024. She was the eighth president of the University of Pennsylvania from 2004 until 2022.

On July 2, 2021, President Joe Biden nominated her to serve as the United States Ambassador to Germany. On February 8, 2022, the United States Senate confirmed her nomination by a 54-42 vote.[1] Gutmann resigned in July 2024.[2]
