Andre Williams
American R&B and punk blues musician
Zephire Andre Williams (November 1, 1936 – March 17, 2019) was an American R&B[1] musician. He started his career in the 1950s at Fortune Records in Detroit. His most famous songs include the hits "Jail Bait," "Greasy Chicken," "Bacon Fat" (1957) and "Cadillac Jack" (1966). He was known for his R&B hit "Shake a Tail Feather".[2] He was born in Bessemer, Alabama.
In 2012, Williams was inducted into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame. [3]
Williams died from colorectal cancer in Chicago, Illinois on March 17, 2019 at the age of 82.[4]
