Andrew Davies

Andrew Davies is a writer from Wales. He is known for his novels and screenplays.

Creations change

Davies created a medical drama for the BBC called A Very Peculiar Practice. He is commonly known for creating the BBC television series House of Cards based on the book by Michael Dobbs.

He also made a television show adaptation of Middlemarch by George Eliot, a show based on Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, a show based on William Makepeace Thackeray’s book Vanity Fair and a show based on Bleak House by Charles Dickens.

Davies also made a show based on Dickens’ novel Little Dorrit, a tv show based on War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy and a show based on Sandition by Jane Austen.

Davies won a BAFTA award in 2002.
