Francisco Vázquez de Coronado

Francisco Vázquez de Coronado y Luján (ca. 1510 – September 22, 1554) was a Spanish conquistador, who visited New Mexico and other parts of what are now the southwestern United States between 1540 and 1542. He died in 1554. He married Beatriz De Estrada, the daughter of a colonial treasurer. He is more commonly known as "Francisco Vásquez de Coronado" or "Francisco Coronado".
