Cryptic Writings is the seventh studio album by American thrash metal band, Megadeth. Cryptic Writings was released on June 17, 1997 through Capitol Records.[1] It was Megadeth's last album to feature drummer Nick Menza.

The album peaked at #10 on the Billboard 200 and at #17 on the Canadian Albums Chart.[2][3] In 1998, the song "Trust" was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Metal Performance.[4]
