Diane Wood
American judge
Diane Pamela Wood (born July 4, 1950) is an American judge. She is the Chief United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.[1][2] She is also a senior lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School.

Wood then clerked for Judge Irving Goldberg of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit from 1975 to 1976 and for Associate Justice Harry Blackmun of the United States Supreme Court from 1976 to 1977. She was among the first women to clerk at the Supreme Court.
In 2010, she was on the short list of potential nominees to take retiring Justice John Paul Stevens's seat, but that nomination instead went to United States Solicitor General Elena Kagan.
