"Don't Stand So Close to Me" is a 1980 song by The Police. It is the lead single on their third studio album Zenyatta Mondatta. It went to number 1 in Ireland, Spain and the United Kingdom, number 2 in Canada and New Zealand, number 3 in Australia, Italy, the Netherlands and South Africa, number 8 in Belgium, number 9 in Norway and number 10 in the United States. It won a Grammy Award in 1982.
