Earl Morrall
American football player, quarterback (1934-2014)
Earl Edwin Morrall (May 17, 1934 – April 25, 2014) was an American football quarterback. He played in the National Football League for 21 season. During his time in the NFL, he played for San Francisco 49ers in 1956, Pittsburgh Steelers from 1957 until 1958, Detroit Lions from 1958 until 1964, New York Giants from 1965 until 1967, Baltimore Colts from 1968 until 1971, Miami Dolphins from 1972 until 1976. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan.
Morrall died from Parkinson's disease on April 25, 2014 at his son's home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was 79.[1] After his death, an autopsy revealed that Morrall had been suffering from Stage 4 chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).[2]
