Controversy
changeOn February 22, 2018, Greitens got in big trouble when he was accused of a serious crime that happened while he was having sex with another woman who was not his wife. He admitted that he was having sex with the woman but disagreed that he had committed a crime. She said that he secretly took naked pictures of her and then threatened to show them to other people and embarrass her if she told anybody what they had been doing together. A grand jury agreed there was enough evidence to proceed and he was indicted on felony invasion of privacy charges.[5] On May 29, 2018 Greitens announced that he would resign from office effective 5pm on Friday, June 1, 2018.[6] He and his wife Sheena got divorced in 2020.
Greitens is now a Republican. He used to be a Democrat.
