Firozabad district
Firozabad district is a district in Uttar Pradesh, India. The district headquarters is Firozabad city. This district is a part of the Agra Division.
Population
changeAccording to the 2011 Census of India, the Firozabad district has a population of 2,496,761.[1] This gives it a ranking of 173rd in India (out of a total of 640 districts).[1]
Religions
changeThe city has some popular Hindu temples, mainly Vaishno Devi Dham, the Kela Devi Temple, and the Gopal ashram (Hanuman temple).
There are many Jain temples in Firozabad including the well-known Chadamilal Jain temple, the Shri Shuparshnath Jain mandir in Gher Khokal (Mahaveer Chowk) and Chandprabhu Jain mandir in Khidki.
Culture
changeAn annual fair is held in Chandwar on October 2 . The Jama Masjid, constructed by the 16th century Mughal emperor Akbar' is the oldest mosque in the district.
