Flag of Rhode Island

The flag of Rhode Island has a white background with a gold anchor in the center (a symbol for hope) with thirteen gold stars around it (for the thirteen original colonies). Below the anchor is a blue ribbon with the word "HOPE" (the state's motto) in gold on it. This current flag of Rhode Island was adopted in 1897.
