Taiwanese singer (1950-2014)

Kao Ling-feng or Kao Ling-feng (Chinese: 高凌風; pinyin: Gāo Língfēng; Wade–Giles: Kao Ling-feng; 28 February 1950 – 17 February 2014) was a Taiwanese singer. He was best known for the song "Flaming Phoenix" (火鳳凰).[1][2] His birth name was 葛元誠 (Gé Yuánchéng). He used the nickname The Frog Prince (青蛙王子 Qīngwā Wángzi) for more than three decades. The name was given to him by his close friend, comedian Ni Min-jan.

During the height of his career, Frankie Kao received NT$240,000 cash per night for appearances. He stopped singing at his peak and went into business. His business venture went badly and he returned to his entertainment career.

Kao died on 17 February 2014 in Xindian District, New Taipei City. He was 63.[3]
