Franz Wagner
Franz Wagner (23 September 1911 – 8 December 1974 ) was an Austrian football player. He played as midfielder mainly for SK Rapid Wien. He also played for the Austrian national football team and after the annexation of Austria for the German team.

Career
changeWagner played football for the Vienna Cricket and Football Club. 1931 he went to SK Rapid Wien and played there till 1943 and from 1945 till 1949. The years betwenn he played for LSV (Luftwaffensportverein) Markersdorf. During his time with Rapid he won the Austrian championship six times and the German championship once. He was also Austrian and German cup winner once.
He made his league debut for SK Rapid Wien on 10 May 1931 in a 4-3 home win against Austria Wien.[1] He scored his only league goal on 25 September 1932 in a 4-1 away win against Wacker Wien.[2] At international club level he played six times for Rapid in the 1934 and 1935 Mitropa Cup.
National team
changeFrom 1933 to 1936 he played 18 matches for the Austrian national team. He was part of the squad for the 1934 World Cup in Italy, where he played four matches. After the annexation of Austria in 1938 he played three matches for Germany. He was part of the squad for the 1938 Fifa World Cup in France. He did not play there.
Manager career
changeAfter his active career he became youth coach of SK Rapid. In the 1955/56 he was coach of the first squad for a few months. At the end of the 1950s he coached the youth of Wiener AC.
