Gajal

Turkish-speaking Muslim ethnic group of the southeast Balkans

The Gajal live in Turkey-East Thrace, and are Sunni Muslims, once originated from Moldavia, at the Russo-Turkish War (1806–1812). The Gajal believe they are descendants of the Pechenegs and Cumans, and are a Muslim Branch of the Eastern Orthodox Christian Gagauz from Moldova.[1]
