Húsavík
town in Iceland
Húsavík is a town in northern Iceland. It has a population of 2,237 people. Most of the industry in the city comes from tourism and fishing. About 850 AD, a Swedish viking named Garðar Svavarsson arrived on the northern coast of Iceland.[1] There he built a settlement and prepared to stay for the winter. When spring arrived, he went away, leaving two slaves behind. They made a farm there.[2]
