High River
town in Alberta, Canada
High River is a town in the Calgary Region of Alberta, Canada. As of 2011, the town had a population of 12,920 people. It is 37 kilometres (23 miles) south of Calgary.
The name of the town comes from the nearby Highwood River. The town was incorporated as a village on 6 December 1901. It was incorporated as a town on 12 February 1906. High River has an elevation of 1,040 m (3,410 ft).[1] It has an area of 14.27 km2 (5.51 sq mi).[2]
