Indian Army
land service branch of the Indian Armed Forces
The Indian Army is the part of the Indian Military which operates on land. It is the largest part of the Indian Military. It is also currently the most active of the Military of India.
In 2010, Indian Army had 1,128,000 active personnel and 960,000 personnel.[1] It has more soldiers than any other nation except China, the United States, and Russia. Majority of the Indian Army's forces are currently stationed in the northern region of Kashmir.[2]
