Iskandar Puteri is a city in Malaysia. It functions as the administrative capital of the state of Johor, Malaysia (Kota Iskandar) and represents the seat of government of the state of Johor (Executive branch & Legislative branch).[3][4] Situated along the Straits of Johor at the southern end of the Malay Peninsula, it is also the southernmost city in Peninsular Malaysia (and thus the southernmost city of continental Eurasia). Together with the adjacent cities of Johor Bahru (the official state capital of Johor) and Pasir Gudang, the three adjoining cities are commonly located within the Johor Bahru District and they anchor Malaysia's third largest urban agglomeration, Iskandar Malaysia, with a population of 2.2 million (As of August 2020).[5]

History change

At first, the city was a town called Nusajaya. In January 2016, the town was renamed to Iskandar Puteri. In November 2017, the town was upgraded to a city.
