Jacques Derrida

Algerian-born French philosopher (1930-2004)

Jacques Derrida (15 July 1930 - 9 October 2004) was a French philosopher. He was born in El Biar, French Algeria into a Sephardic Jewish family[1] originally from Toledo, Spain. He developed a form of semiotic analysis known as deconstruction. His work is called post-structualism and associated with postmodern philosophy. He died of pancreatic cancer in a Paris hospital.
