S. Truett Cathy

Samuel Truett Cathy (March 14, 1921 – September 8, 2014) was an American businessman, philanthropist and restaurateur. He was the founder of fast food restaurant chain Chick-fil-A. The chain is based in suburban Atlanta, Georgia. He stepped down from his role as CEO and chairman in November 2013, and gave the roles to his son, Dan. He was a billionaire.[1]
Cathy was born in Eatonton, Georgia. He was a Southern Baptist. He was married to Jeanette. They had three children; Trudy, Bubba and Dan.
Cathy died after a long illness on September 8, 2014 in Hampton, Georgia, aged 93.[2]
