Jeph Acheampong is a Ghanaian-American social entrepreneur known for founding Blossom Academy, the first Data science academy in West Africa. He is also a founding member of Esusu Financial, a fintech platform that helps renters build credit.[1][2][3][4]

Early life and education

Acheampong was born in Accra, Ghana, and later moved to New York. He graduated from Forest Hills High School in 2012. He then studied economics at New York University and pursued a Master's in Education Leadership, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship at Harvard University.[3][5][6]

Career

Acheampong began his entrepreneurial career at New York University by founding Anansi Global, a humanitarian fashion company. In 2018, he established Blossom Academy, the first data science academy in Ghana, and co-founded Blossom Corporate Training to provide skill development for working professionals.[7][8][9][10][11]

Jeph Acheampong was featured on CNN [2]and recognized as a Milestone Maker in the Fall 2021 cohort of the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center, focusing on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.[12]

In 2021, he was recognized as one of Africa's Young Entrepreneurs [13]and invited by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs to discuss strategies for addressing economic uncertainties and job creation in a challenging market.[14][15][16]

In 2022, he served as a speaker at the West Africa Business Forum, which focused on youth and young women entrepreneurs from 15 African countries. He was also invited to speak at the 2024 World Youth Development Forum in Guangzhou, China.[17][18]

He was recognized as a 2018, Future of Ghana "30 under 30" honoree and acknowledged by New York University as an Up and Comer. He is a 2018 Princeton in Africa Fellow, a 2023 Acumen Fellow, and a 2024 Cheng Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School.[19][20] [21][2]
