Leopard 1
German main battle tank
The Leopard 1 (sometimes written as Leopard I) is a German main battle tank. It was designed by Porsche and manufactured by Krauss Maffei in West Germany. It had lighter amor and moved faster than most main battle tanks of its time. It was also simply known as the Kampfpanzer. It first entered service in 1965.
The Leopard 1 was not used much. It was used at some point in the Cold War. Later it was also used to help the Ukrainian resisting forces in the Russian invasion of Ukraine[1].
The successor was the Leopard 2, and in 1979, the Leopard 2 entered service.
