Liam Payne

English singer and songwriter (1993–2024)

Liam James Payne (29 August 1993 – 16 October 2024) was a British singer and songwriter. He became famous as a member of the band One Direction. In 2016, Payne signed a recording deal with Capitol Records as a solo artist,[2] and with Republic Records in the United States.[3]

After One Direction's hiatus, Payne signed a recording deal with Republic Records in North America.[4] In May 2017, Payne released "Strip That Down" (featuring American rapper Quavo) as the lead single from his debut album. It peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart and number ten on the US Billboard Hot 100.

His debut album, LP1, was released in December 2019. He sold over 18 million singles in under three years after One Direction's hiatus.[5]

[6]He died tragically on 16 October 2024 after falling from a third-story balcony at the hotel Casa Sur Palermo in Buenos Aires, Argentina at age the tender young age of 31.
