Maximilian Wöber

Austrian association football player

Maximilian Wöber (born 4 February 1998) is an Austrian professional footballer. He plays as a centre-back for Austrian Bundesliga club Red Bull Salzburg and the Austria national team.[1]

Club career change

Youth career change

He started his football career with Rapid Wien's youth teams.[2]

Rapid Wien change

2015 till 2017 he played for Rapid Wien II. On 25 February 2016 he played his first match for SK Rapid Wien against Valencia in the UEFA Euro League.[3]

Ajax change

In August 2017 he went to Ajax for €7.5 million.[4][5]

Sevilla change

On 11 January 2019 he went on to Sevilla[6] He signed a contract until 2023.

Red Bull Salzburg change

On 13 August 2019 Wöber agreed to a five-year contract FC Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga. It is said that Salzburg paid €12 million what makes him to the most expensive player in Austrian Bundesliga.[7]

International career change

Wöber was in the Austria national football team for 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Wales and Georgia in September 2017.[8] On 6 October 2017, he made his debut for the Austria national team in a 3–2 win against Serbia.[9]
