Moraxella

genus of bacteria

Moraxella is a genus of bacteria.[2] It is named after Victor Morax, a Swiss eye specialist (ophthalmologist).[3] They are gram-negative. The cells are short rods or cocci. Moraxella catarrhalis can cause chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.[3]
