Negasso Gidada
Ethiopian President (1943-2019)
Negasso Gidada Solon (Amharic: ነጋሶ ጊዳዳ Nägaso Gidada; 8 September 1943 – 27 April 2019) was an Ethiopian politician. He served as the President of Ethiopia from 22 August 1995 until 8 October 2001. He was a member of the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) before becoming independent. He was later a member of the House of Peoples' Representatives for Dembidolo from 2005.

Gidada was born in Dembidolo. He was married to German-born Regina Abelt. He died of an illness on 27 April 2019 in Frankfurt, in the German state of Hesse. He was 75.[1]
