Oleg Yefremov

Soviet and Russian actor and theatre director (1927–2000)

Oleg Nikolayevich Yefremov (Russian: Оле́г Никола́евич Ефре́мов, 1 October 1927 – 24 May 2000) was a Soviet-Russian actor and Moscow Art Theatre producer. He was a People's Artist of the USSR (1976) and a Hero of Socialist Labour (1987).[1] He was born in Moscow. He was married to actress Alla Pokrovskaya.[2]

His best known roles were The Alive and the Dead (1964), melodrama Three Poplars in Plyushcikha (1967), Shine, Shine, My Star (1969), comedies Aybolit-66 (1966), and Beware of the Car (1966).

Yefremov died on 24 May 2000 at his apartment in Moscow from lung disease at the age of 72.[3]
