One-Punch Man
One-Punch Man (Japanese: ワンパンマン, Hepburn: Wanpanman) is an ongoing Japanese superhero webcomic created by ONE.[5] It began publication in early 2009.[6] The series quickly went viral. It received 7.9 million hits in June 2012.[7] One-Punch Man tells the story of Saitama, a very powerful superhero. He has grown bored due to the lack of challenge in his fight against evil and is trying to find a worthy opponent.

A digital manga remake of the series, illustrated by Yusuke Murata, began publication on Shueisha's Young Jump Web Comics website in 2012.[6] The chapters are collected and printed into tankōbon volumes. Thirty volumes were released as of March 4, 2024. Viz Media has licensed the remake for English publication in its Weekly Shonen Jump digital magazine.[8]
An anime television based on this manga by Madhouse aired in Japan between October and December 2015.[9][10][11] It was dubbed in English during the summer of 2016. Later that year a planned second season was announced.[12] On September 25, 2017, it was announced that they would be changing both its production company and director.[13]
The series nominated for the seventh annual Manga Taishō Awards in 2014.[14] The series was also nominated for an Eisner Award in 2015.[3][15]
