DeShaun Dupree Holton (October 2, 1973 – December 21, 2012), better known as Proof, was an American rapper. He was a member of the Detroit groups 5 Elementz, Funky Cowboys, Promatic, Goon Sqwad, and D12. He was also a close childhood friend of rapper Eminem.

Proof's first studio album, I Miss the Hip Hop Shop, was released in 2004. His second album, Searching for Jerry Garcia, was released a year later in 2005. It rose to number 65 on the Billboard 200.[1]
On December 21, 2012, Holton died from unknown reasons in Los Angeles, California. He was 39 years old.
